A concrete plan for 4 days: promenade, lighthouse in Gąski, Lake Jamno, a trip to Chłopy and accommodation with Baltic views.
Easter in Mielno is the Baltic without crowds, cheaper accommodation and four days that you can fill with activity or relaxation — depending on the mood. Check out what to do in Mielno over a long weekend by the sea and come back with a ready plan for every day.
Mielno at Easter 2026 – what to do over a long weekend by the sea?
July in Mielno is, with certainty, an almost certain picture: a busy car park by the promenade, a queue at the ice cream parlour and a beach without free space for a towel. The long Easter weekend is a completely different story. Chłopy (6 km) with the historic Treasury of the Fishing Village, Gąski (10 km) with the lighthouse, Koszalin (12 km) with Chełmska Mountain, the Butterfly House and the Water Park, as well as the Hortulus Theme Gardens in Dobrzyca (about 20 km) — attention: on Sunday and Monday itself Hortulus is closed, check the current hours before leaving. The same attractions by the sea in Mielno, the same Baltic and the same promenade — only quieter, cheaper and without a fight for your own patch of sand. In Mielno it falls between 3 and 6 April. Below you have a concrete plan for four days, how to spend the time — from arrival to bidding farewell to the sea.
Good Friday (3.04) — arrival, promenade and dinner with a sea view
Start the first day with the Promenada Przyjaźni — 3 km of seaside avenue connecting Mielno with Unieście. Outside the season it is completely different here than in July: a wide, empty beach, fresh air from the sea and zero crowding. Walks along the seashore in such conditions are a kind of rest that no resort in the middle of summer can replace.
On the way you pass the Walrus Monument by the promenade and the Aviators’ Monument — two characteristic landmarks in the centre of Mielno, worth a moment’s attention. Not far from here Aleja Lipowa also begins, leading towards the church.
In the evening, sunset falls at about 19:55. A good moment for dinner at Restauracja Meduza — a panoramic, glazed room with a view of the Baltic, European cuisine, open until 22:00. An alternative with atmosphere: the Fishing Port in Unieście and the fish bars there — fresh fish, local cuisine, port surroundings.
Holy Saturday (4.04) — Lighthouse in Gąski and bowling at Arche
About 10 km west of the centre of Mielno stands the Lighthouse in Gąski — a brick building set into the landscape of this section of the coast. If the tower is open, the panorama of the Baltic Sea and the surrounding dunes is impressive. Around the lighthouse it is worth strolling along the coastline — it is a peaceful corner, away from tourist traffic. One of the few seaside tourist attractions open all year round.
In the evening return to Mielno and go to the Warsztat 1944 Bowling Alley at Hotel Arche Aircraft Factory. Four professional lanes, an industrial atmosphere referring to the aviation history of the area, a bar with snacks. An ideal option regardless of the weather — reservation through the hotel reception.
Easter Sunday (5.04) — church, bikes and Lake Jamno
Sunday naturally starts with mass at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Mielno — one of the nicer sacral buildings on the central coast, with a characteristic tower visible from the promenade.
In the afternoon it was time for a bike ride. The route around Lake Jamno is one of the better attractions in the Mielno municipality, and in spring you can ride here exceptionally calmly. Jamno is one of the largest coastal lakes in Poland — in several places on the route you have the Baltic on one side and the lake on the other. The educational trail “By Jamno” runs through protected areas with boards about local fauna and flora — walking and cycling trails are well marked. An additional point: the Jamno Farmstead, especially interesting for families with children.
By bike you can also ride the route from Mielno to Mielenko along the shore — a short, scenic ride with a view of the sea on one side and holiday cottages on the other.
Easter Monday (6.04) — Chłopy, Koszalin and return
Devote the last day to the surroundings. First stop: Chłopy (6 km). Here the Treasury of the Fishing Village in Chłopy awaits — the traditional layout of a 19th-century fishing settlement with half-timbered houses with white walls and dark beams. Most are monuments. Inside an exhibition of fishing culture, shops with souvenirs and local products. The route from the walking and cycling trails runs through the outskirts of the Koszalin Coastal Park — a picturesque section with a view of the sea and the forest at the same time.
From here to Koszalin (12 km) and Chełmska Mountain — a hill with a basilica, a historic lime alley and a viewing terrace over the city. The ascent takes about 20 minutes, the paths are accessible all year round. While you are at it, it is worth popping into the centre: the Butterfly House in Koszalin is an ideal place both for families with children and for adults looking for something different — thousands of butterflies in a tropical garden, open all year round. Both for families with children and for couples — an unforgettable contrast with the cold Baltic outside.
With children by the sea — what works the whole weekend?
This time is still not the full season, so some attractions for children and adults require advance confirmation of opening hours. Proven options:
Water Fun Mielno — water equipment base on Lake Jamno (kayaks, paddle boats, SUP boards, jet skis, motorboats) and cruises on the Mila ship. Fun for children and adults, one of the few rentals already active in spring. This rental has lots of new equipment, so it is worth trying your hand. It is also worth calling before arrival and confirming availability.
Koszalin Water Park (12 km, indoor, open year-round) — with a pool for learning to swim for the youngest (it can be an ideal opportunity to learn), recreational pools and slides. Excellent place for a cooler day. It is worth buying the entry ticket online to avoid a possible weekend queue.
Multikino Koszalin (Forum gallery) - in this period the weather can surprise, so a trip to a screening can be a good idea. Children love cartoons, adults love films, the cinema is a place for everyone.
And of course a walk along the seashore. Outside the season, the beach in Mielno is a wide, peaceful place to relax — children have more space to play here than in many indoor entertainment facilities.
Accommodation in Mielno at Easter 2026 — for whom what?
Mielno accommodation attractions are a wide choice. Three places worth considering depending on what you are looking for:
Unitral Medical SPA — an ideal place both for older people and for younger couples looking for regeneration. The only holiday in Poland with a brine pool with a composition similar to the Dead Sea. A bath in a brine jacuzzi is an experience not available at any other seaside hotel in Poland; it is an ideal place for pool lovers.
Baltivia Sea Resort (ul. Cicha 9) — near the promenade, most rooms with a Baltic panorama, a rooftop terrace, Rokitnikowe SPA. A good choice if the view from the window is important to you — about 50 m from the beach, with a sea view from almost every room.
Sofra FIT & SPA — opened in 2024, with one of the largest SPAs on the Polish coast (3000 m²), a 200 m² pool, three saunas and a salt grotto. A place for people looking for a quiet rest without animations and noise. The historic character of the area and the exceptional wellness offer is a combination hard to find in other places in the Mielno municipality.
Seaside accommodation prices in Mielno start from about 460 PLN per night. This is significantly less than in July — in spring and autumn the accommodation is cheaper and availability is better. Book in advance, as the dates go quickly.
