Cukin Gallery in Mielno — open-air gallery on the promenade
The Cukin Gallery in Mielno is a unique open-air exhibition consisting of 26 colourful graphic boards arranged along the Promenada Przyjaźni. The works were created in the characteristic street art style and depict tourist attractions of the Mielno commune as seen through the artist’s eyes.
Author and style — Tomasz Żuk, also known as CUKIN
The author of all the graphics is Tomasz Żuk, an artist from Koszalin working under the pseudonym CUKIN. Żuk is self-taught — he never graduated from art school, but developed his artistic talent from childhood. He is best known for large-format murals and graffiti, which adorn buildings throughout the West Pomeranian region.
In the Mielno gallery, Żuk transferred his work from urban walls to exhibition boards. Each graphic depicts a different attraction of the commune in a street art style — while walking along the promenade, you can compare the artist’s visions with the real places. It is a unique combination of a tourist guide with street art.
Practical information
The gallery is accessible free of charge all year round. The boards are arranged along a stretch of Promenada Przyjaźni, connecting the centre of Mielno with Unieście. The exhibition is an integral part of the promenade opened in July 2018. It does not require a reservation or additional planning — you only need to take a walk along the seaside boardwalk.
Who is it for
The Cukin Gallery in Mielno will appeal to lovers of street art, but also to families with children looking for an additional attraction during the walk. The colourful, eye-catching graphics provide inspiration to photographers and constitute an interesting point on the route. It is worth combining the visit with seeing the nearby Mielno Mural, which also fits into the trend of street art in the resort.
More information about the gallery can be found on the official website of the Mielno commune.
